Obtaining[]

Talk to Amayiro at [-32,-57] in the Bonta Militia.
Dialog
Ask what he has in mind.

The problem isn't a lack of kamas... it's just that Latem Sa is really incompetent, and Kosuke Ichazum is a specialist in blades so he can't provide a standard set that's up to our militia's requirements.

Agree that it's a problem.

I want you to find a mercenary smith who'll agree to work for us. Start by asking Kosuke Ichazum if he knows anyone who could help.

Go back and see the master blacksmith.

Step 1: Workshops[]

You must find a skilled blacksmith who will agree to make the equipment for Bonta. Amayiro suggests that you go search in the workshops (either those of blacksmiths or miners).
Inside the Smiths' Workshop.
Dialog

Hi! I'm Kosuke the Bladesmith. How can I help you?

Ask if he knows another competent smith.

Competent smiths? I don't know many to be honest. There's me... and... let's see. There's another one called Charlie Endstown-Smisse. I used to work with him in the Bonta militia, but he deserted. He set up a forge in the village of Amakna, far from the terrible war.

Inside the Smiths' Workshop (the building on the left).
Dialog

Hi, I'm Charlie Endstown-Smisse, ex-militiaman, proud blacksmith and owner of the famous Charlie's Agents. I'm happiest when everything is going to plan!

Suggest he should work for Bonta.

Work for the army? Never again! I left a few years back, and I'm not about to return now. I set up shop in Amakna so as to have some peace and quiet. There's no trouble here, and no worries. You should do the same before it's too late. What's more, if you're thinking of taking my advice, Amakna militia just recruited a young Iop who would be happy to help you get out of Bonta militia. If you continue on the path you're walking now, I won't be able to do a thing for you, although maybe Ian Ozenthroat will agree to help you. He owns the workshop in the north of the village.

Dialog

Hi! I'm Ian Ozenthroat, the blacksmith. I've not got anything to sell at the moment, I'm completely snowed under with work. Actually, I could do with an apprentice to bring me the raw materials I need. All the ones I've had so far ran away after half a day's work. Pfft, they're such chickens!

Suggest he should work for Bonta.

I'd have been fine with it if I didn't already have a thousand late orders. I have to forge weapons to slay the Moowolf, to scalp the Bworker and to gut the Minotot, so I really don't have time to equip the militia. I did know another smith a long time ago who mysteriously left for the mountains. I haven't seen him in at least ten years, so I'm sure he for one won't be snowed under with work. Go and see Graham Finame in the south-east workshop, he might remember this mountain smith.

Inside the Smiths' Workshop.
Dialog

I'm Graham Finame. Everybody around here knows me, and any monster that chanced upon my sharpened blade is now a dead monster. If you're interested, I'm selling everything you need to become a blacksmith.

Suggest he should work for Bonta.

My weapons are made to slay monsters, and my armour to protect me from the same. I don't make equipment so men can slaughter one other. I once knew a less scrupulous smith, but he fled into the wild many years ago and nobody has seen him since, except maybe Norb. You don't know Norb, do you? That's the smith who recently set up shop on the Scaraleaf Plain.

  • Talk to Norb  [3,29]
Inside the Smiths' Workshop (the building on the left).
Dialog

Sorry, I'm not taking any orders for the moment.

Suggest he should work for Bonta.

Hmm, Bonta is having trouble and you need a smith?
I can't take care of it, but maybe...
No, forget about it.

Ask about the hermit smith.

Someone spoke to you about him? Look, I really don't want to get mixed up in your stories or get a friend of mine involved. I know Bonta wants to protect the World from the evil influence of Brakmar, but I'm still not convinced enough to help you.

Step 2: Located Locating Location[]

Norb knows where you can find the hermit smith; now all you need to do is get him to spill the beans about his hiding place! Maybe Amayiro will be able to help.
  • Convince Norb to help you  [3,29]
To complete, you can either:
Dialog

I told you I didn't want to get mixed up in all this.

Would 5,000 kamas speed things up a little? (you lose 5,000 Kamas)

Selling over.
So then, I've a friend who could take care of it. But he's a strange person, and has a tendency to get paranoid. Very paranoid, that is.
He's hiding out in Brouce Boulgoure's cave at the clearing, but I can't go visit him as a very unusual beast called Bellus Sel has blocked the entrance. You'll notice that all this will sort out Nara's business, and you know how Nara hates to be disturbed.

or
  • Ask for help from Amayiro at [-32.-57].
Dialog
Ask for a letter to convince the blacksmith.

Don't you think if I wrote a letter to Norb he might come help us? No problem, I'll write a letter straight away.
Here you go.

Thank Amayiro.
You receive 1 Request for Help from Amayiro.
Talk to Norb at [3,29] again.
Dialog

I told you I didn't want to get mixed up in all this.

Show the letter.

Apparently you need a helping hand. I can't do anything for you, but I think I might have the solution to your problem.

He's hiding out in Brouce Boulgoure's cave at the clearing, but I can't go visit him as a very unusual beast called Bellus Sel has blocked the entrance. That should sort out Nara's problem too, and you know how he hates problems.

You lose 1 Request for Help from Amayiro.
Note: To enter the cave where Nara is, you have to give 4 Sick Arachnee Hairs and 2 Boar Tusks to Bellus Sel at [10,11]. You can complete the quest in one trip. If you're missing an item and need to return, you will have to give him another set of resources.
For the step 'Find some underwear and go back and see Nara', you will need a belt that counts as underwear, usually with "Pants" or "Briefs" in the name. The cheapest options are Adora Briefs, Captain Chafer's Spare Panties, or Khan Karkass's Briefs.
For a list of belts that can be used, expand this section.

  • Give Bellus Sel the items he asked for to get into the cave  [10,11]
Bring him 4 Sick Arachnee Hairs and 2 Boar Tusks.
Dialog

Hello. Hi, my name is Sel. Bellus Sel. I guard this cave. I only let experienced warriors in, those who are able to survive more than 20 seconds when faced with the terrible creature that haunts this place... Furthermore, I'd like you to bring me four strands of Sick Arachnee hairs and two Boar Tusks. My son asked me to make him a mask, but my work keeps me here all the time.

Ask to be let by.

Thank you very much. Now look me straight in the eyes. I'll be able to see if you have a ghost of a chance of winning against the terrible Boowolf. If so, I'll let you pass.

Take the 'test of the glance'.

Well, at least you seem cocky enough to fight the Boowolf. You can pass.

Enter the cave.
  • Talk to Nara  [10,11]
From the entrance room with the Boowolf, enter the room at the top right.
Dialog

Who are you? What do you want? Stay away from me!

Talk about the Bonta proposition.

Well? What do I care if Bonta's in difficulty? I just want you to leave me alone.

But if Brakmar wins...

I've already dealt with them...
If they win the conflict, they'll chase me from my mine and will surely force me to work for them. I'd rather die! All the same, I don't trust you any more than them. Trust is earned, so you'll have to prove to me that you're worthy.

Demand proof.

Let me think. What could I ask you to do...
For a start, I want you to bring me some pre-cooked meals. I'm tired of eating the Boowolf's leftovers. I want fish, not too well done, and certainly not fried, some Ray Wing – that should do the trick. To drink... I'll take a beer that tastes like ammonia and smells like grilled pig skin, like the stuff you find in Brakmar. Bring me all that to let me know I can trust you. I'll think about your plight while you're gone.

He will take both the above items at once.
Dialog
Hand over the food.

Mmm, I see you, you're smiling, right? I can feel you, you're planning something nasty. Did you poison the food? I'm going to throw it away just in case. And the beer smells too much of ammonia... or not enough, it's strange. I'm going to throw that out too.
I've thought a lot about it and I've decided what I want. It's very simple and you should have no trouble getting it in Bonta. I want a Purple Bwork Leather Dragobutt. I've had the last one for a long time now and I need a new one, I'm starting to chafe from all the rubbing. Why are you looking at me like that? Was it something I said?

Dialog
Hand over the Dragobutt.

Wow, it's amazing. You guarantee it's never been used? I don't want to catch anything!
I'm finally going to be able to get rid of the old one. No more red raw skin and scabs!
I've to test it again just to make sure you aren't doing one over on me.

  • Talk to Nara  [10,11]
Dialog

Who are you? What do you want? Stay away from me!

Suggest he should work for Bonta.

Undress to your underpants. I want to be sure you're not hiding a weapon of mass destruction in there.

Tell him to shove off.
  • Find some underwear and go back and see Nara  [10,11]
You must be wearing one of the belts listed above to see the "Strip down to your underpants." dialog option (you can keep your other gear equipped). One belt can be traded among multiple characters in turn.
To complete this step, you can either tell him to shove off during the "Bark." step, or during the final step where he tells you to deal with the Boowolf.
Dialog

Strip down to your underpants.

Get down on all fours.

Get down on all fours.

Bark.

Tell him to shove off.

Ah, that I like better. I don't trust people who do too much, they're always hiding something... At least you didn't let me walk all over you, that means you're not too eager to get me. I'll definitely think about your offer.

Bark.

That's a good little doggy. Now pick your nose with your thumbs.

Pick your nose with your thumbs.

What flexibility, that's impressive! For now I want you to go soothe the Boowolf into submission using the moves you just showed me. And don't forget to bark a bit, or he'll realise it's a trick.

Tell him to shove off.

Continue talking to Nara to start the next quest, House Hunting.
