Apprenticeship: Guardian of Torture is a quest.


Step 1:[]

After your victory over Archbishop Erzal, your Order would like to make certain arrangements.
  • Find the map: Protectors' Hall
Enter the secret passage at the top floor of the Tower of Brakmarian Orders.
You will receive 1 Statuette of Sumens.
Now you will have to complete 3 different sub-tasks. You can start with any of the following sub-tasks in any order.

Merkator's Aquadome[]

  • Find the map: Entrance to Merkator's Aquadome
Go to the Merkator's Aquadome entrance.
  • Defeat 1 x Merkator on the Treasure Room map in a single fight
  • Find the map: Entrance to the Underwater Well of Power
For this step you will need 1 Propulsion Accelerator.
Go to [20,29] at Tritun Rift area and enter the hall.
  • Find the map: Well of Power passageway
Click on the stairs in the middle to enter the next room.
  • Defeat the guardians
You will start a fight against 2 Cannon Dorf Fisherman (Lv. 200) and 2 Snickerblade Fisherman (Lv. 200) with 1 Claminor (Lv. 200) as your only ally.
No other character can join.
The enemies are invulnerable and only Claminor can hit enemies. Survive and protect Claminor until it kills all enemies.
  • Find the map: Underwater Well of Power
After the fight the lever will become interactive in the same room. For this step it will be necessary to have Bleeding Heart (or Valiant Heart) and Putrid Eye (or Sharp Eye) members with their respective Rank 5 Order quests at the similar step at least. They will need 1 Propulsion Accelerator each. The 3 members of different Orders will then be required to trigger the interactive element in their respective rooms at nearly the same time in order to open the grid in the previous room. Go through the grid once it's opened. The grid seems to stay open for about 1 minute (?) before it closes again.
Important note! It seems that the lever stops being interactive if a character has already triggered it. In order to make the lever interactive again, it will be necessary to redo the solo fight mentioned above. It is not recommended to trigger the lever without the intention to pass through the grid.
Redoing the fight is however not necessary for the quest progress itself, which means a character who has done the above-mentioned fight at least once can freely pass through the grid opened by other people and continue the quest.
  • Talk to Droon
You will lose 1 Statuette of Sumens.

The Heroes' Cemetery Well of Power[]

  • Find the map: Entrance to the Heroes' Cemetery Well of Power
Enter the crypt at [-21,-60].
  • Find the map: Well of Power passageway
Click on the interactive grave to descend to another room.
  • Defeat the guardians
You will start a fight against a group of 8 monsters (Lv. 200) containing 1 Veteran Elite Chafer, 1 Veteran Chafer Lancer, 1 Veteran Chafer Archer, 1 Veteran Rib and 4 Purifying Flames.
This is a solo fight, no other character can join.
In addition, all 4 Purifying Flames will summon another set of 1 Veteran Elite Chafer, 1 Veteran Chafer Lancer, 1 Veteran Chafer Archer and 1 Veteran Rib each respectively at the start of the fight. All enemies are invulnerable. All Purifying Flames have rooted state and don't have any active spells.
In order to deactivate invulnerability of all enemies infinitely (excluding Purifying Flames) it is necessary to end a character's turn near each of 4 Purifying Flames.
Every time a character ends near Purifying Flame, the flame casts a 3-cell AoE red glyph around itself for an infinite duration. As long as a character is on the glyph it will receive x80% damage sustain and x110% heals received. As long as an enemy is on the glyph it will receive 600% damage sustain.
In order to win the fight it is necessary to kill all chafers including the summons. If there's no more chafer left on the field, the Purifying Flames automatically die at the start of their turn.
  • Find the map: Heroes' Cemetery Well of Power
After the fight the lever will become interactive in the same room. For this step it will be necessary to have Bleeding Heart (or Valiant Heart) and Putrid Eye (or Sharp Eye) members with their respective Rank 5 Order quests at the similar step at least. The 3 members of different Orders will then be required to trigger the interactive element in their respective rooms at nearly the same time in order to open the grid in the previous room. Go through the grid once it's opened. The grid seems to stay open for several minutes before it closes again.

  • Talk to Captain Chafer
  • Defeat 1 Captain Chafer in a single fight
Whenever Captain Chafer receives a long-range damage it will receive Long Range Invulnerability state for 1 turn but will lose its Close Combat Invulnerability state. Whenever it receives a close-combat damage it will receive Close Combat Invulnerability state for 1 turn but will lose its Long Range Invulnerability state.
In addition, every 4 turns starting from turn 1 Captain Chafer will become invisible and invulnerable for 1 turn and summon 4 Enslaved Souls which die at the start of Captain Chafer's next turn.
This is a solo fight, no other character can join.
  • Talk to Captain Chafer

Cemetery of the Tortured Well of Power[]

  • Find the map: Entrance to Cemetery of the Tortured Well of Power
Enter the crypt at [-14,35].
  • Find the map: Well of Power passageway
Click on the interactive grave to descend to another room.
  • Defeat the guardians
You will start a fight against a chafer Tsugrumo (Lv. 200).
This is a solo fight, no other character can join.
Tsugrumo has 100% resistance. Every time it starts its turn linear to the character it will lose 10% resistance infinitely.
In addition Tsugrumo will receive invulnerable and rooted state for 1 turn if it starts and ends its turn not near the character. So in order to prevent Tsugrumo receiving invulnerable state it is enough to either make it start its turn near the character or end its turn near the character.
  • Find the map: Cemetery of the Tortured Well of Power
After the fight the lever will become interactive in the same room. For this step it will be necessary to have Bleeding Heart (or Valiant Heart) and Putrid Eye (or Sharp Eye) members with their respective Rank 5 Order quests at the similar step at least.   • Talk to Lord de Seashore
  • Defeat the heroes of old
You will start a fight against a group of 7 chafers (Lv. 200) consisting of 1 Lord de Seashore, 1 Count Ess, 1 Krakbone, 1 Bone Head, 1 Ashbone, 1 Kremashun and 1 Dogfoul.
This is a group fight. Other characters at the same step of their respective Rank 5 Order quests can join the fight and update the quest at the same time provided they have talked to Lord de Seashore beforehand. Characters without the quest can also join and help with the fight provided they have passed through the opened grid.
In this fight all allies share damage with each other. Additionally, every time a character receives heals, all enemies are healed by the same amount of heals.
Lord de Seashore will enter invulnerable state for 1 (2?) turn every time another monster dies.
If Lord de Seashore dies, it will give all characters and their summons -50% resistance for 2 turns.

Final Step:[]

After completing all 3 sub-tasks you will be prompted to return to your order leaders.
