Confounded Generosity is a quest.

Story[]

Williamwadui admits that he was wrong for giving us the jewel. It has been cursed, making it's owner generous. In order for us to break the curse we need to behave like an Enutough. To do this we need to find a very precious gemstone and hide it somewhere.

Obtaining[]

Talk to Williamwadui at [3,-4] in Auriferous Quarry.
Dialog
Demand some explanation about the Scarlet Jewel.

I admit that I was being dishonest with you, but the jewel had been ruining my life for decades! I thought its curse only affected Enutoughs, but apparently I was wrong...I never lied about where it came from, though: It really is from deep within Enurado. The problem is that it comes with a terrible curse that makes its owner generous! Can you imagine the hardship I've lived for all these years?!

Keep listening.

I finally managed to escape this living hell when the Voyagers arrived. See, the curse is broken when you offer the jewel to someone who accepts it gladly. Since you've been deeply affected by its powers too, we're going to try a different, quicker method.

Listen to the instructions.

You're going to have to behave like an Enutough. I mean, obviously you won't manage; we're too unique. But the closer your attitude gets to ours, the more likely you'll be able to get rid of this blasted jewel. Go and look for a gemstone that's more precious than all the others, store it somewhere safe, and then come back and see me.

Step 1: Precious Stone[]

  • Find a stone that's more precious than the others

Click the red gem at [1,-4] (in Enurado). You will receive 1 Sparkling Ruby.

  • Find a hiding place for the precious stone

Go to the Drhevil Den map at [2,-4] (in Enurado). You will lose 1 Sparkling Ruby.

Dialog
Mention the Scarlet Jewel.

Have you tried to get rid of it? Oh, but you didn't manage? Right, we're going to continue with that whole think-like-an-Enutough thing. One of the rites of passage from teenagehood to adulthood involves beating an Aggressive Perfidhius with your bare hands. Some of them have dug their burrows near here. As soon as you're ready to fight, let me know and I'll call one using my whistle.

Fight the Aggressive Perfidhius.

Step 2: Aggressive Perfidhius[]

Story: Getting rid of the Jewel didn't work, so to act like an Enutough we need to fight an Aggressive Perfidhius with our bare hands.

This fight must be done alone. You must defeat an Aggressive Perfidhius without a weapon or a shield equipped.

Dialog
Give the Aggressive Perfidhius the eye.

You fought well for a visitor. Unfortunately, I get the impression it hasn't solved your problem at all. No matter, though: We'll just try plan B. Drhellers have a naughty habit of collecting Auriferous Nuggets, which are one of the vital ingredients of Golden Waffles. You're going to need to collect 5 of these nuggets, melt them down in a waffle mould, and try to sell the resulting Golden Waffle to Tate Wadd. Now if that doesn't work, I don't know what will. Well, I have an idea...but I'd rather not talk about it.

Step 3: Golden Waffle[]

Story: We still didn't manage to get rid of curse, so we will make a Golden Waffle out of Auriferous Nuggets and sell it to Tate Wadd.

You must drop 5 Auriferous Nuggets from Drhellers (100% base drop rate) in the Auriferous Quarry, then go to [2,-3] (in Enurado) and melt them down. You will receive 1 Golden Waffle.

Dialog
Offer him a Golden Waffle.

Hmm...let me inspect the quality of your Golden Waffle...It doesn't look very good to me. Are you sure it's made of gold? The shape isn't perfect either...It's almost burnt on one side and undercooked on the other.

Show him the waffle is perfect, no matter what he says.

You're clumsier than a Trool who's taken a bath in Jelly Blubber! How have you managed to get this far without dying?

Turn the waffle around slowly so it sparkles like the rarest gemstone.

Stop playing the fool, you're hurting my retinas. What rotten luck I've gotten to be saddled with such a noodle.

Show off the product's quality.

If you want to play Grampa Muscle with me, you better hit the dumbbells, kid.

Tell him you know very well that he's just trying to haggle and that you're not going to fall for it.

Okay, okay, I'll admit it, I desperately want the waffle. You've got yourself a deal. I'll buy it on credit.

Shrug and pretend to slip the waffle back into your bag and leave.
Try to think of a way to convince him.

Your character must have over 600 points of either Strength, Intelligence, Chance or Agility, or have all Characteristic points put into Vitality. Note that at least 151 of the points of the Characteristic you choose must be base points from levels and/or Characteristic Scrolls. The other 450+ points may come from any other source, such as equipment. The correct dialogue option changes depending on which of your characteristics is above 600.

Step 4: Finish the Quest[]

Story: After some hassling we managed to sell the Golden Waffle. Lucky for us, Tate seemed to take a liking to our cursed Jewel as well, so we managed to get rid of it!

Dialog
Ask for payment for the Golden Waffle.

Yeah, yeah, I'll pay for it a bit later... Oh my, look at that delicate jewel... Is it for sale?

Lie and say yes.

I'll buy it right away and pay for it when I pay for my Golden Waffle, alright?

Accept his offer.

What a beauty...! It'll take pride of place in my collection...

You will lose 1 Scarlet Jewel.

Notes[]

With the Version 2.30 update characters must now have over 600 points in a Characteristic for the Golden Waffle step of this quest, as well as needing base Characteristic points allocated. Characteristic Scrolls before this could be used up to 101 points in a single Characteristic, but now they can only be used up to 100 points, which would not meet the original 101 base point requirement this quest needed when it was first introduced.
