Hello! I'm Edrige Valling, the renowned archer. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have about Bows or how they're made.
Bows with magic powers are rare and tricky to make, you often need to combine rare woods with precious metals and stones to make a bow that will be both magical and deadly.
In general, bows are made with twisted Flax String. I spend a lot of time making my bowstrings, they're particularly robust, but flexible at the same time.
Any kind of wood can be used to make a bow. Some woods are better than others, though, and it's not at all surprising that a bow made of Ash Wood is less efficient than a bow made of Yew Tree Wood. The most efficient bows are in general composed of several types of wood, but these are both harder to make and harder to find materials for. Let's just say, you have to have some friends in the Lumberjack trade to get anything done. |
