Nabur's Lost Love is a quest.

Obtaining[]

Talk to Fiuna Ramarch at [-21, -58] in Heroes' Cemetery at the end of The Soul Stealer.
Dialog
Find out more about Nabur.

All I know is that he was a great weaponsmith in his time. He was killed by Dark Vlad long, long ago. When I was young, I remember Kerub Crepin telling stories about him... Speaking of which, I heard that Kerub was in Astrub these days. Maybe you should go and ask him about Nabur.

Thank her and head for Astrub.

Step 1: Nabur's Lost Love[]

Nabur has been the master of a lot of heroes in his time. After over 300 years of well-deserved rest in the cemetery in Bonta, he's decided to leave his tomb for a bit of fresh air. Maybe he had some unfinished business to attend to? Apparently Dark Vlad has something to do with it... It's high time you asked Nabur about all this.
Inside the house at [3, -17], upstairs.
Dialog

The shop is closed for stocktaking, but feel free to have a look around and admire all the marvels I've accumulated over the years. Ahh, I really have sailed the seven seas and more. The World of Twelve holds no secrets for Kerub Crepin!
If you find any rare items on your travels, feel free to show me them. I might just be able to tell you a bit about where they come from!

Ask questions about Nabur.

Ah, Nabur... a rare soul, and the best weapons master I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Did you know there are legendary items named after him? Not everyone gets an honour like that!! He met a grisly end, but so do a lot of heroes. More often than not, heroes don't die in their sleep. The luckiest make it to retirement, or change careers and open shops, but they're definitely the exceptions.

Find out more about the link between Nabur and Dark Vlad.

Nabur died because of Dark Vlad...but his sacrifice wasn't in vain, because he managed to liberate a Dofus from the influence of this evil fiend. Poor Nabur... I'm sure his biggest regret was not finishing his days beside his childhood sweetheart.

Ask where Nabur's sweetheart lived.

She lives in Amakna Village... the original village, that is, on what is today the Dreggon Peninsula. But why all these questions? Are you working on a biopic? If you are, I can help! I have a thousand stories to tell you! I remember the time I had to team up with my biggest rival, Indie Thikovit...

Make your excuses and leave.
He can be found at [-4, 25] in the Dreggon Peninsula inside the middle-right house, upstairs.
Nabur's location
Dialog

Dulcenia, my Dulcenia... Nabura... I'm sorry... So, so sorry...

Look at Meriana's compass and observe that the needle isn't moving.

What happened here? What happened to the village? I must know... Where is Dulcenia? And Nabura... Our daughter, what happened to her? You, adventurer... You seem to be looking for answers too... Would you help me look for them?

Promise you'll do all you can.
  • Find out more about the devastated village
Talk to Ziho inside the Kanojedo at [-4, 24].
Dialog

Hello! My name is Ziho. I guard the ruins of this temple. I know this village and this island like the back of my hand.
I'm used to meeting adventurers like you who don't believe the history of this place to be a serious matter... and never come back!
Let me help you with a little piece of advice. So, what do you need to know?

Find out more about the Devastated Village.

The village you're in is none other than the old village of Amakna.
Its inhabitants lived there peacefully for a very long time until these mysterious Dreggons turned up and devastated the village, eating and burning up most of the inhabitants. Those who survived took refuge a long time ago in what we now call Amakna Castle.

Continue the conversation.

After spending several years within the castle walls, the survivors of the village decided to rebuild their homes next to the castle, with the help of the Astrubians. These buildings are what we now know as Amakna Village.
Nowadays, only thrill-seekers and Dreggon-cutters dare to venture into this devastated village. I've often seen Rogues and Bandits sneaking over to pillage everything that's been left in houses or simply take refuge in a place where very few people dare to go...

Continue the conversation.

The wise men of this world say that the Dreggon invasion was a form of divine punishment – that the Dreggons were already trapped in the depths of the island, and all Osamodas did was free them. But the inhabitants of the village had all forgotten what their ancestors had done to the Dreggons. They didn't remember that their village had been built on top of the Dreggons' Sanctuary to conceal its existence... as though they wanted to hide their wrongdoings and madness.

Continue the conversation.

When Osamodas decided to free the Dreggons, they resurfaced to attack the village and its residents. They burst out of the ground, smashing through the floors of the houses and cracking even the most solid slabs. This surprise attack left the villagers with no real chance to defend themselves. Nature has now taken over again here, and the village is a mere shadow of what it used to be... But the ruins seem to be resisting the throes of time, as if Osamodas wanted to engrave it in our memories, a warning for future generations.

  • Find out what happened to Nabura
Talk to Dreggon Tamer at [-3, 24].
Dialog

Hello, adventurer! I'm one of the only Dreggon tamers in this land, and I've been doing it for ages. I'm the only person who even understands them and tames them. My grandfather, who once lived in this village, taught me everything.
I've had a few worries for some years now. Maybe you could help me?

Ask if his ancestor ever mentioned Dulcenia or Nabura.

Nabura... That name rings a bell... I seem to recall my grandfather knowing her granddaughter - he often spoke of her. Her name was Unaberia. She was a healer, and she helped my grandfather during his exile. She left to seek refuge at Amakna Castle with her family.

Say thank you for this information.
Dialog

Those bandits want a piece of me... Over my dead body, I say! Get back!

  • Defeat 1 Head Plunderer in a single fight  [-4, 25]
Talk to the Head Plunderer.
Dialog

Get outta here, hamhead, or I'll turn you into a walking relic!

Attack the looters. (starts a fight)

A fight starts against the three plunderers:
  • Head Plunderer - Lvl. 90, 2200 HP, a stronger Dark Smith
  • Tetchy Plunderer - Lvl. 80, 1400 HP, a stronger Poacher
  • Cruel Plunderer - Lvl. 80, 1200 HP, a Rogue
Other characters and Sidekicks cannot join.
You are accompanied by Master Nabur, a Lvl. 100 Draugur Chafer with 3600 HP. There are no consequences if he dies, as long as you win the fight. Similarly, if you die, he will continue to fight.
Dialog

Dulcenia, my Dulcenia... Nabura... I'm sorry... So, so sorry...

Ask him if he's alright.

Don't you worry about me; I have nothing more left to lose. It was brave of you to fight at my side. Have you learned anything about what went on here?

Tell him that his great-granddaughter survived the Dreggon invasion.

Oh, may the sun shine upon the Twelve! Please, take me to Amakna Castle! I want to find out what's become of my family. I've had enough of rotting quietly in my tomb... All I want is to rest in peace with my loved ones.

Take Nabur to King Allister's castle.

Dulcenia, my Dulcenia... Nabura... I'm sorry... So, so sorry...

Ask Nabur to follow you.
You receive 1 Master Nabur (following character). If you die and lose it, you can talk to him in this location again to regain it.
  • Take Nabur to Amakna Castle  [4, -6]
There's the castle. The kingdom's archivist can probably tell you something about the events of the past.
He can be found inside Amakna Castle at [4, -6]:
Amakna Castle: How to find George Segrob 1
Amakna Castle: How to find George Segrob 2
Amakna Castle: How to find George Segrob 3
Dialog

The royal library is not open to the public. If you wish to consult or borrow books, please go to Amakna library instead.

Say that you're interested in finding out where those who survived the destruction of the Ancestral Village are now resting.

Hmm... I don't know if you've realised it, but there's a Chafer following you... Since when do the dead stroll around with such impunity? I'm calling the guard!

Explain that the Chafer is none other than the famous Nabur.

Nabur? The master of arms for so many heroes? Cor! And why is he following you? Oh, he's looking for his lost loved ones, you say? Oh my, for a person of his stature, we can make an exception, I'm sure. You can consult the funeral registry archives.

Say thank you and rummage about in the archives.
  • Consult the castle archives  [4, -6]
Click on the pile of books in the left corner of the room.
Nabur - pile of books
You've found an old register showing that there's a Nabur family crypt in Amakna Cemetery.
  • Find the map: The Naburs' Cellar
Enter the crypt at [11, 16] in the Cemetery (Amakna)
  • Talk to Oona  [11, 16]
Dialog

I come here often to place flowers on my family's graves... I'm not afraid of night creatures... I'm not afraid of anything at all!

Introduce her to her forebear, the famous Master Nabur.

Woah... So this is my great great great... great... well... An ancestor of my ancestors (I know, I know, I'm really good at maths)! How about that? I love family trees. Man, check out how old he looks, as though he'd just been on a really long journey... It was really nice of you to bring him here. Thanks! He'll finally be reunited with Dulcenia - she's buried just there.

Turn to Nabur.
Dialog

Dulcenia, my Dulcenia... Nabura... I'm sorry... So, so sorry...

Tell him that he can rest here in his family's crypt.

Thank you for all you've done. Thanks to you, I can finally rid myself of all my bitter memories... And enjoy some well-deserved rest with the ones I've loved and will always love. I hope you find what you're looking for as well.

Notice that the needle of the compass has started to turn.
You lose 1 Master Nabur (following character).
  • Use Meriana's compass and find your way to the indicated point
Enter the Bonta Militia at [-32, -57].
Double-clicking Meriana's Compass in your quest inventory will place a marker on this map, but is not necessary to update the quest.
Dialog

I'll break through the walls of Brakmar with the next dragoturkey charge!

Ask if he's seen Dark Vlad in the area.

Ah, that, yeah... What an unholy racket that was! That was a couple of days ago. We don't really know why he came here. He left pretty quickly, but the militia is still on edge. There has been so much disorder, not to mention the desecrations!

Find out more about these desecrations.

Some thugs scribbled some hurtful stuff on the statue of Iop in the militia base. As you no doubt know, the Lord of the Evil Forest is a Iop, and some think that the god of war is helping him with his dastardly deeds... In my opinion, someone paid some lackeys to go and deface the statue. I think it was a breeder who really hates Dark Vlad. But without any proof, it would be better if I kept my accusations to myself.

Say that you'll investigate the matter.
Continue talking to Captain Starky to start the next quest, The Birth of a Mission.
