Sacrier is a combination of Sacrifice, the pain which they must suffer to use their powers, and Crier, as in someone who shouts or laughs. They shout or laugh at pain, and their pain gives them their strength.
Their French name is Sacrieur, which is also a combination of Sacrifice and Crieur, (crieur translates to crier and rieur translates to laughter).
