Obtaining
Talk to Karla Shnikoff at [-66,-74].
Step 1: Spontaneous Combustion Engine
- Karla Shnikoff wants you to make yourself useful by going to join Sab O'Terr.
- Talk to Sab O'Terr at [-54,-76] at the Windblast Barricade
- Escort Sab O'Terr to the scene of the diversion at [-52,-81]
- When you enter the map, you will immediately be attacked by a Mecanofoux and Serpulax. Other characters can join the fight, but bear in mind that they will also be attacked if they are doing the same quest. If you lose, you can proceed anyway; it is not necessary to fight again.
- Search the ambush site
- Defeat 3 Kan-O-Mat Kidnapper at [-54,-83]
- Go to [-55,-84] and walk down the stairs. Enter the building on the map, walk down the stairs inside, down the ladder, and finally go 1 map right to find Sab O'Terr and the kidnappers. Initiate the fight (3 Kan-O-Mat Kidnapper, 1 Serpulax Kidnapper, 1 Mecanofoux Kidnapper) by talking to any of the NPCs. Other characters can join the fight and will update their quest at the same time.
- Talk to Sab O'Terr
- Recover the box of explosives
- Recover the box of tools

- Take 1 Box of Explosives to Sab O'Terr at [-54,-83] (Take the same route as before.)
- Take 1 Box of Tools to Sab O'Terr at [-54,-83]
- Escort Sab O'Terr to the spot where Sylargh's Carrier stocks up at [-52,-83]
- Create a diversion to conceal Sab O'Terr's work
- Talk to Sab O'Terr to start a fight against 2 Mecanofoux and 1 Serpulax. Other characters can join and will update their quest at the same time. You do not have to win the fight to progress with the quest.
- Talk to Karla Shnikoff at [-66,-74]
