The Illness is a quest.
Obtaining[]
Talk to Herr Peece at [-80,-45] in Frigost Village. Before talking to him, you must let the Lurgi Vaccine run out and acquire the Lurgi (it lasts one week after completing the quest The Vaccine Monologues). This time when you talk to him there will be two questions. "Ask how the research into the new vaccine is going" starts the "The Illness" quest. "Renew the Lurgi Vaccine" starts the 1 week vaccine again.
DO NOT RENEW THE VACCINE AT ANY POINT DURING THE QUEST OR YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK.
Step 1: Mastogobs in Glass Houses...[]
- Herr Peece is waiting on the results of a blood test from a Royal Mastogob for information on a possible permanent vaccine against the Lurgi.
- Take 1 Royal Mastogob Blood Sample to Herr Peece [-80,-45]
Step 2: The Immune System[]
- Herr Peece has written a list of ingredients necessary to make a new vaccine.
- Talk to Grandfather [-79,-42]
- You must complete or have completed the quest Poor Kiki.
- Take what you need from Grandfather's cellar
- Click the barrel in the cellar.
- Take 1 Artisanal Friswein to Herr Peece
- Talk to José Bovey [-69,-42]
- You must complete or have completed the quest Gin 'n' Ticks.
- Take 1 Soviyeah Ticks to Herr Peece
- Talk to Mayor Cantile [-77,-42]
- You must complete or have completed the quest Welcome to Frigost.
- Take 1 Research Funds Pledge to Herr Peece
- Talk to Cassiopeia Sant or Bisale Vinlenta
- You must complete or have completed the quest Sowing's So In or One Hundred and Twenty-Three Flowers, Exactly Like the Others.
- Take 1 Experimental Cereal or 1 Experimental Plant to Herr Peece
- Take 1 Mama Pingwin Oil to Herr Peece
- Talk to Gormor the Mangler [-65,-50]
- Obtain 1 Living Cromagmunk from Gormor the Mangler, use it to make some Freshly-Squeezed Cromagmunk Juice, and then take the juice to Herr Peece
- Trade Gormor 5 Sabredon Hair and 5 Woolly Piggoth Leather for a Living Cromagmunk.
- With the Living Cromagmunk now in your possession, go to an Alchemist's Workshop and craft (if you are a level 60 Alchemist) or solicit services to craft Freshly-Squeeze Cromagmunk Juice using 1 Cromagmunk Acorn, 10 Still Water, 5 Frigrowka (purchased from the innkeeper of Lisa Kaya's Tavern at [-81,-41]), and 5 Friswein (purchased from the innkeeper of the The Silver Tavern at [-77,-44])
- Talk to Jon Burrowman [-81,-44]
- Recover 1 Manuva Roots and take them to Herr Peece
- Click on the plant at [-64,-48].
- You will enter a fight against 2 Woolly Piggoth, 1 Diogene, 1 Frighog.
- Other characters can join the fight.
