A long time ago, before the arrival of the advanced beings and their villages, Amakna was an area with a luxuriant vegetation where wildlife was wonderfully blooming.
When the first advanced beings arrived, coming from the surrounding seas and mountains, they discovered lively and hostile forests.
After several disappearances, they understood that the forests kept a terrible secret. Living trees, that were called Treechnids , were discovered. Against the setting up of new races, they were systematically attacking anyone approaching them.

Treechnids took their powers from the heart of the forest. Able to invoke Arachnees and to regenerate themselves in the middle of a fight, they were terrible opponents for those who were unable to see the threat they represented. However, the advanced beings together with their fire rapidly put an end to the rebellion of the forest.
Since then, before any new construction, the first reaction of the invaders was to light torches and set fire to the land parcels they needed. The forest kept quiet and the Treechnids gradually disappeared.
However, north-west of Amakna , a part of the forest remained intact. All the seats of fire that were lighted and all the axe blows given never succeeded in overcoming the forest.

Some also say that the Soft Oak lies within this forest.
It's supposed to be the ancestral protector venerated by all the plants. Rumor says the Soft Oak is the heart and conscience of the forest.
Numerous adventurers tried to learn more about this legendary tree. They were often more attracted by treasures than by knowledge, and few of them came back to tell what they had seen.
Faced with such different versions, the authorities did not grant much credibility to the survivors' statements. However, when several men disappeared, the ancients could observe a Treechnid outbreak every time.
